Although most smartphone manufacturers don’t release the specs of their new phones before launch, Google has taken a different approach with their Google Pixel phones. Although the Google Pixel 6 is not scheduled to be released until fall of 2021, the tech giant has already released a lot of information about their newest smartphone, including the fact that its operating system will depend on using artificial intelligence for nearly all of its functions. This new information sometimes matches with previously reported rumors, but much of the information is brand new.

The standard Pixel 6 will have a 6.4-inch screen and two cameras, while the Pixel 6 Pro will have a 6.7-inch screen and three cameras, the third a telephoto lens.

Both models will include Material You, a new innovation from Google that includes a more streamlined design with better security and accessibility. The new Pixel 6 will use Google Tensor, the first chip designed by Google and custom-made for use in its smartphones.

Thanks to Tensor, the Pixel 6 phones will incorporate artificial intelligence into the phone’s functionality, allowing for machine learning and what should be a more intuitive interface that will adapt to the user’s needs. Specifically, users can look forward to built-in advanced voice commands, dictation, translation and subtitles that will draw on the new chip’s AI functionality.
