Smartphones are getting cheaper, even those with new features.

T-Mobile is wading into the 5G ring with a new exclusive phone model. Unlike other manufacturers, however, it’s not attaching 5G capability to a model with a large price tag. Instead, the company announced its Revvl V+ 5G would be available July 12 for the low price tag of $199. This is just a fraction of the price of most other 5G models on the market to date.

T-Mobile users can also tack on $8.34 a month to their T-Mobile phone plan, making the phone available to anyone who can afford a phone plan.

The Revvl V+5G will include a 5,000 mAh battery, a 16MP camera, and Android 11 operating system. It will feature a 6.82-inch screen and is currently available in black.

The phone is the lowest-priced smartphone T-Mobile has ever announced. Its next lowest option is a $400 5G smartphone, announced in August 2020. Both smartphones are only available to T-Mobile customers and customers of its partner company, Metro PCS.

Although not a 5G smartphone, Samsung is set to launch the new Samsung Galaxy A03s in India. The phone will be available for the equivalent of $200 USD, and is considered the successor to the Galaxy A02s. It’s considered an entry-level smartphone, with a side-mounted fingerprint sensor and use a USD Type C charger. Leaked information says the phone will also have a 6.5-inch display, a 5MP selfie camera and a triple rear camera.
